The Story So Far.....................

 
Orwells was set up by Ryan Simpson & Liam Trotman, they took on the lease of the Brakspear property back in May 2010, shortly after winning a Michelin star at The Goose in Britwell Salome. Since taking on Orwells the culinary duo have won numerous awards including 2 AA Rosettes, Readers Restaurant of The Year in the 2012 Good Food Guide and The Reading Restaurant of the 2011 - 2012.

Located on Shiplake Row, near Henley on Thames, we are a Pub that offers exciting pub food along with signature cooking this was once located in The Room but due to high demand it is available throughout Orwells. There is a viewing panel into the kitchen which is located in the conservatory, whilst the main restaurant has a warming ambience with low beams and exposed walls. You can experience our tasting menus throughout Orwells and you are sure to find some Pub classics too.
 
Our food is sourced locally where possible from, fisherman, farmers and foragers, choosing only the best produce for our menus. We take a rural cooking and deliver a modern approach.

The front of house team is headed up by Andrew, who has over 15 years' experience in the restaurant industry. Passionate about looking after all of our guests, Andrew can guide you through our menus, talk you through our wine list or simply make sure that you have a good time at Orwells.

Both Ryan & Liam are always busy in the kitchen but do feel free to pop in and say hello, they can't always leave but you are more than welcome to come in!
